Marrakech is well placed for local one day trips to the Atlas Mountains and local areas including Ait Benhaddou and Essaouira. In addition, short tours of two days include Ouarzazate and camel trekking around Zagora. The Erg Chebbi and Erg Chigaga dunes are a 10hrs drive and desert tours from Marrakech require three days, four days or five days and more depending how leisurely your wish to travel and explore the highlghts along the route.

1 Day Walks - Marrakech City Tours

Marrakech with Tizi-n-Tichka and Telouet (3hrs)
Cross the highest Atlas road pass of Tizi-n-Tichka to visit the Berber village of Telouet and take a guided walk of the kasbah of el Glaoui and, on a Thursday, include a traditional souk.
Marrakech to Essaouira on the Coast (3hrs)
Transfer to the coastal port of Essaouira and wander through this friendly town with its ramparts, medina, art galleries and harbour. Lunch on fresh fish in one of the many cafés.
Marrakech to Ouzoud and the Waterfalls (3hrs)
Transfer to Ouzoud and visit Morocco’s highest waterfalls at Ouzoud.
Marrakech to Ourika Valley and Setti Fatima (1.5-2hrs)
Transfer along the Ourika valley to the Berber village of Setti Fatima and lunch in a local Berber cafe. Hire a local guide and walk to the waterfalls.
Marrakech to UNESCO Site of Ait Benhaddou (4hrs)
Cross the Tizi-n-Tichka to visit the World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, a fortified village that once stood on trans-Saharan caravan route through the High Atlas to Marrakech.
Marrakech to Imlil and Toubkal National Park (1.5-2hrs)
Drive along the Ouirgane Valley and then detour at Asni to Imlil, a Berber village at the edge of the Toubkal National Park. Ride a mule to Kasbah Toubkal for mint tea and include the souk at Tahanoute on a Tuesday. Time permitting, visit Tin Mal.
2 days tours – Marrakech across the High Atlas
- Berber Life in Telouet. Cross the Tizi-n-Tichka and spend the night in a Berber guesthouse with afternoon guided walk and tour Kasbah of el Glaoui.
- Ait Benhaddou. Cross the Tizi-n-Tichka to visit the World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou and overnight in a converted Kasbah or hotel with pool
3 days, 4 days and 5 days tours – Marrakech Camel Trek Tours
Please note that it is a 10hrs minimum drive from Marrakech to the Erg Chebbi or Erg Chigaga dunes and at least four days is recommended for a camel trekking tour from Marrakech. There are smaller dunes around Zagora, more easily achieved in three days, but Zagora does not offer a comparable desert experience.
